About the Book

In Living with Ovarian Cancer - A time for Truth, Hope and Love.
Nina Davidson Arnold weaves a positive and uplifting tale of her five-and-a-half year journey while undergoing continuous treatment for ovarian cancer.  The elegant and thoughtful prose merges notations from eleven daily journals kept over the years of treatment.  As the story unfolds it exposes the highs and lows of living in spite of the disease.  The daily journals were an incentive to help her endure the over-whelming odds she faced with cancer, while allowing her to appreciate life through her faith and constant encouragement from her husband, family and friends.  Her courage, faith, strength, and will to live give meaning to life while bringing a sense of normalcy.

In June of 2004 my mother (Nina Arnold) passed away in her own home (with in home Hospice care) happy and content with her full life.  Diagnosed with advanced stage four cancer, my mother lived an incredible and amazing eight years (statistically uncommon at this time) due in part her participation in some clinical trials and to many new treatments now available to cancer patients. However her longevity had much to do with her wonderful outlook on life, strong belief and faith in God, and the encouragement and support of my father. Her book continues to provide a helping hand to those that are either facing cancer themselves or who have a loved one facing the fight against cancer. - Anthony Arnold (Son - Nina Arnold)

Book Review

This book embodies the bravery it takes to battle cancer and live life to its fullest. It is truly an important story for cancer patients - a record of both struggle and hope - as well as a kind of concordance for family and friends, so that each may understand the internal battles afflicted loved ones must overcome with each new challenge. Nina Arnold seeks understanding of and purpose in her illness, while adjusting to the limitations of surviving cancer - finding the beauty in everything around her and making each day count.

As the daughter of a cancer patient, I had little knowledge of my father's personal struggles. Reading this book gave me an invaluable perspective that, even four years after his passing, means so much more than words can say.

Book Review

Having recently lost my father to cancer, I was hesitant to read a book about "someone else's" cancer. That hesitation was gone after the first page...

What I gained from reading this book was a powerful new insight into the world of the cancer patient as well as the still too familiar world of the family member. Nina's unique approach of detailing her treatments interwoven with her personal story is like nothing I had read before.

It takes an incredible amount of courage and love for others to write a book like this. I would like to personally Thank Nina and her family for sharing their journey with us.

Book Review

I highly recommend Living With Ovarian Cancer to anyone with or without cancer, as the book is filled with human interest as well as medical information. Few people would be willing to let others peer into their journal and their soul as Nina has done. It is an inspiration to truly live life to the fullest, with truth, hope, and love.

If Nina Arnold can, we all can!

Book Review

Reading Living with Ovarian Cancer - A Time for Truth, Hope and Love, helped me understand my mother and family’s battle with cancer. Sometimes you start to feel like you are the only family enduring this horrible disease. For the first time I feel as though I have understanding of what my mother and all of us have experienced.

Thank you.
